Brooke Heuts was our very first exhibitor and we are incredibly grateful to have been able to host her finely crafted and carefully curated textiles for our First Friday exhibition, and we continue to carry her home goods in the retail space.
She's the artist, textile designer, and all around aesthetic genius behind Grey Goods Studio. All the color fast textiles are produced on-demand in North Carolina, and all pillow inserts are cruelty-free.
Additionally, because Grey Goods produces everything with sustainability in mind, even their packaging supplies are eco-friendly... down to the compostable packaging tape :)
Brooke has been making art and working with textiles since the late 1990’s and received her BAD from NCSU’s College of Art + Design & her MFA in Fibers from ASU. As a fine artist, her work examines the need for cloth, the substantial labor required in its making and most importantly, the resulting infinite bonds formed and shared by families and communities and you can often see her work at Light Art + Design in Chapel Hill, NC.
When not making, Brooke can be found cuddling Finnegan the coonhound & probably pruning tomato plants in the backyard garden.
